CLASSES
"CITRON" SHAWLETTE: Vicki
Thursdays, 9:00-11:00 AM - May 3rd and 24th(In Session)
Class Fee: $35.00 + materials**
Are you tempted by all the gorgeous lace-weight yarns but fearful of working with such fine yarn and tiny needles?  "Citron" uses lace-weight yarn, but is knit on a size 6 needle so is less intimidating than a project knit on smaller needles.  This semi-circular shawlette is shaped by increases gently radiating from the center.  Increases and decreases create the ruching and the ruffled effect along the bottom edge.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner*

This reversible, lacey shawl is just the right accessory for those cool spring and early summer evenings. Beads added to the cast-on edge of each "frill" (a fun-to-do ravelled rib stitch) add a touch of elegance to this lovely wrap.  The second "frill" is knit separately and attached to the end of the body of the shawl using the Kitchner stitch graft.

Homework: (necessary to ensure that you are working with the correct needle size): Knit a swatch by casting on 26 stitches and work in Stockinette Stitch (knit one row, purl one row) for 4 inches.  It is always necessary to knit a swatch to check your gauge, especially with items where fit is important.  You need to reach the gauge of 19 stitches = 4 inches; adjust needles accordingly until you reach the correct gauge.

"MINIMALIST" CARDIGAN: Mick
Thursdays, 10:00 AM-12:00 NOON - June 7th, 14th, 21st and July 5thNEW
Class Fee:  $55.00 + materials**
This cardigan is utterly adaptable: the sleeve length is easy to customize, the fit is flattering on all body types, and the yarn can be easily swapped depending on the season.  For the shop sample, we shortened the sleeves and used a cotton/silk blend to make this a summer sweater.  This is not a top-down raglan, but instead uses set-in sleeves, so it's a great pattern to learn seaming.  The stitch pattern is easy to memorize, and it's a very versatile cardigan to add to your spring or summer wardrobe.
